Welcome to snowmobiling in Northern Maine. The Caribou Snowmobile Club grooms 170 miles of snowmobile trails linking to Presque Isle, Washburn, Fort Fairfield, Limestone, Van Buren, & New Sweden.
Caribou is centrally located within the 1600 mile snowmobile system in Aroostook County making it a good starting point for loops around the different trail systems.
We have many businesses that will make your stay in Caribou a pleasant experience. Lodging, gas, restaurants, convenience stores, snowmobile sales & repair, and all the other amenities you would need. Many of these businesses are located adjacent to the snowmobile trails.
Caribou has 2 Gilbert groomers that run day & night to keep the trails smoother than most country roads.
Roger Andrews, on the left, was recently presented with a Caribou Snowmobile Club jacket by club president Reggie Hanson. Roger has retired from grooming and maintaining local snowmobile club trails for more than twenty five years. He operated and maintained the Ski Doo double track Alpines that were used for grooming. He did a lot of the trail maintenance including trail reroutes, bush cutting, and bridge work, as well as placing and picking up of trail signs and field marker stakes. He has been one of those "behind the scenes" people who have been instrumental in keeping the Aroostook County trail system in place and maintained.

Gary Marquis, who oversees Caribou Trail System management, is presented with a Caribou Snowmobile Club jacket by the club secretary Marvin Hedstrom. Gary, shown on the left, has been the "go to" person for issues dealing with the 100 + miles of Caribou municipal trails. He is involved in locating, constructing, marking, obtaining landowner permission, hiring groomer operators, scheduling groomer operations, maintaining the two Gilbert groomers, etc. relating to the Caribou trail system.
Gary has been doing these kinds of things 24/7 since 1995.
